Difference between an Exercise Physiologist and a Physiotherapist

There is often some confusion as to the difference between an Exercise Physiologist and a Physiotherapist.  An Exercise Physiologist focuses on exercise prescription with an emphasis on exercise type, intensity, duration and frequency with special needs patients.

Physical activity is used to prevent against disease and illness.  Exercise Physiologist consult with Physiotherapists in order to provide continued patient care post acute treatment phase.

The Physiotherapist deals with the management of acute injuries predominantly musculoskeletal in nature.
